Lucian Krasznec

Lucian Krasznec was born in the Banat region (Romania). He graduated from his vocal studies in Cheryl Studer's class at the Musical High School in Würzburg and also joined master-classes with Christian Elsner, Peter Frank, Gerold Huber, Ruth Ziesak and Anna Reynolds. He was a scholarship holder of the International Richard-Wagner-Society in 2006 and an award winner of the Würzburg Armin-Knab-Lied-Competition in 2007. The following year he received the Franz-Völker-Award in Neu-Isenburg as well as a scholarship of the Munich Richard-Strauss-Society.
Following his stage-debut with the Würzburg Mozart Festival (Tamino in The Magic Flute) and guest-appearances in Coburg and Freiburg, he joined the ensemble of the Darmstadt State Theatre. In 2011 the young tenor moved on to the Dortmund Opera House where he managed to acquire new relevant roles as a lyric tenor throughout the five subsequent seasons, being highly acclaimed by audience and specialised press: Ferrando (Così fan tutte), Belmonte (The Abduction from the Seraglio), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Walther von der Vogelweide (Tannhäuser), The Italian tenor (Der Rosenkavalier), Nemorino (L'elisir d'amore), Alfredo (La Traviata) as well as the title-role of Gounod’s Faust.
Operetta-roles were already part of his repertory in Dortmund too: René in Lehár’s The Count of Luxemburg and Gjurka Karoly in Abraham’s Roxy and her Wonder Team. In 2010 he made his debut with the Austrian Mörbisch Operetta Festival singing the title-role of The Tsarevitch, followed by The Gipsy Baron in 2011 at the same venue. His first appearance at the Vienna Volksoper was Millöcker’s The Beggar Student in 2016. The current season brings him back there for the new-production of Kálmán’s The Csárdás Princess. Throughout the last years he also appeared – mostly in performances of The Magic Flute – at the Frankfurt Opera House, the Salzburg Festival and also the Bregenz Festival.
Since the start of season 2016 Lucian Krasznec has been a steady-member of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich where he has been mostly performing in opera-roles. Disregarding his Mozart-characters he has there also been singing for the first time Nadir in Les pêcheurs de perles, Lyonel in Martha, Baron Kronthal in The Poarcher (Der Wildschütz) and Leicester in Maria Stuarda. Mr. Krasznec also sang Rodolfo in La bohème, Duca in Rigoletto, Lenski in Eugen Onegin and Percy in Anna Bollena. In 2021 he has his debut at the Opera Bastille in Paris.
He already appeared in concert at the Cologne Philharmony, the Bonn Beethoven-Hall, the Essen Philharmony, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Tonhalle in Düsseldorf and the Concert House in Dortmund. Within these engagements he sang with renowned orchestras such as the Bonn Beethoven-Orchestra, the German State Philharmony Rheinland-Pfalz, the Dusseldorf Symphony Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra Vorarlberg.
