Lucian Krasznec

was born in the Banat region (Romania). He graduated from his vocal studies in Cheryl Studer's class at the Musical High School in Würzburg and also joined master-classes with Christian Elsner, Peter Frank, Gerold Huber, Ruth Ziesak and Anna Reynolds. He was a scholarship holder of the International Richard-Wagner-Society in 2006 and an award winner of the Würzburg Armin-Knab-Lied-Competition in 2007. The following year he received the Franz-Völker-Award in Neu-Isenburg as well as a scholarship of the Munich Richard-Strauss-Society.
In 2005, Lucian Krasznec made his stage-debut as Tamino (The Magic Flute) with the Würzburg Mozart Festival, performing the title-role of Mozart's Idomeneo there the following year too. Further engagements made him appear at the Coburg Landestheater (Frau Luna, operetta by Paul Lincke) and at the Freiburg Stadttheater (Penderecki's The devils of Loudon). From 2008 to 2011, Lucian Krasznec was a steady member of the Darmstadt State Theatre where he performed as Tamino, Italian Tenor (Der Rosenkavalier), Kudrjas (Katja Kabanova), Pong (Turandot) and Count Zedlau (Wiener Blut) among other roles. From 2011 until 2016 the young tenor has been a member of the Dortmund Opera House. His debut there as The Helmsman (The Flying Dutchman) was followed by numerous role debuts such as Ferrando (Così fan tutte), Nemorino (L'elisir d'amore), Belmonte (The Abduction from the Seraglio), Walther von der Vogelweide (Tannhäuser), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) and Alfredo (La Traviata) as well as in operettas by Lehár (The Count of Luxemburg) and Abraham (Roxy and her Wonder Team). Highly recognised by both the Dortmund audience and the specialised press his role-debut as Gounod’s Faust will follow there in 2016 still.

Guest-engagements made Lucian Krasznec appear at the Austrian Mörbisch Operetta Festival already in 2010 and 2011 performing title-roles in Lehár’s
The Tsarevitch and Johann Strauß’ The Gipsy Baron, the 2011 production being released on DVD. The same year he made his debut with the Frankfurt Opera House as Tamino in The Magic Flute, joining the same opera as Priest and Armed Man under the baton of Nikolaus Harnoncourt at Salzburg Festival 2012 too. His debut with Bregenz Festival succeeded in 2013. In 2016 he made his highly successful debut at the Vienna Volksoper singing the title-role of the Millöcker-operetta The Beggar Student. As from season 2016-2017 Lucian Krasznec will be an ensemble-member of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich where his first year will include roles by Mozart (Ferrando, Belmonte, Don Ottavio) and Bizet (Nadir in Les pêcheurs de perles).

He already appeared in concert at the Cologne Philharmony, the Bonn Beethoven-Hall, the Essen Philharmony, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Tonhalle in Düsseldorf and the Concert House in Dortmund. In these concerts he sang with orchestras such as the Bonn Beethoven-Orchestra, the German State Philharmony Rheinland-Pfalz, the Hof Symphony Orchestra, the New Philharmony Westfalen, the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra Vorarlberg.
